Nature's Sunshine Liquid "Lobelia Extract" Individual Herb

$22.00

Size: 59mL

Description:

This expectorant promotes, among other things, the expulsion of excess mucus from the respiratory tract.

Lobelia is an annual plant native to North America. It is much loved in gardens because of its delicate purple flowers. It was called Indian tobacco because Native Americans smoked it. Interestingly, lobelia contains a substance called lobeline, which is similar to nicotine.

Lobelia has long been used in traditional herbal medicine as an expectorant for the upper respiratory tract. Expectorants help the body expel excess mucus from the airways. Lobelia is believed to accomplish this by relaxing and soothing the airways to facilitate the expulsion of mucus.

Benefits:

Lobelia has traditionally been used in the following cases:

  • asthma;
  • chronic bronchitis;
  • epilepsy;
  • whooping cough;
  • relaxation of the muscles of the pelvis in preparation for childbirth.

May help some people to:

  • giving up smoking by quenching the craving for nicotine;
  • relieve muscle tension and inflammation;
