Description

Catnip & Fennel is a synergistic combination containing two time-honored herbs that primarily support the digestive and nervous systems.

Catnip, an herb in the mint family, has been used for centuries in traditional herbal medicine as a sedative to calm the nervous system and digestive system. The herb is also used to reduce fevers by promoting sweating.

In herbal medicine, fennel fruits, commonly known as seeds, are used to relieve gastrointestinal discomfort, to relieve bloating as well as stomach pain and cramps, thanks to the essential oils of the herb.

Benefits:

  • Traditionally used in Herbal Medicine to help relieve digestive spasms (antispasmodic) and flatulent dyspepsia.
  • Helps relieve feverish conditions by promoting sweating.
  • Helps relieve nervous conditions.

Usage tips

Babies:

  • 1-2 drops per ounce of milk when heated, with each drink;
  • or before each breastfeeding directly into the baby's mouth;
  • or mum takes 1.25 to 2.50ml of Catnip and Fennel in hot water (like a herbal tea) for example:
    • in the afternoon if the baby's symptoms are mostly in the evening;
    • or up to 2 to 3 times a day.

Children: 1.25ml in hot water (like a herbal tea) up to 3 times a day.

Adults: 1.25 to 2.50ml in hot water (like a herbal tea) up to 3 times a day.

*Decrease dosage as symptoms improve.

Ingredients

Medicinal ingredients (per ml): 0.49 mL of a 6:1 extract of Nepeta cataria (catnip) leaf and 0.020 mL of Foeniculum vulgare subsp. vulgare var. vulgare (bitter fennel).

Non-medicinal ingredients: glycerin, water.

Warnings

  • Consult a practitioner prior to use if you are breastfeeding, taking oral contraceptives/drugs/natural health products or undergoing hormone replacement therapy.
  • Do not use if you are pregnant or allergic to anethole/carrot family plants.
  • Discontinue use in case of allergies.
